Why Sewer Problems Happen

Many sewer laterals installed before 1985 were constructed with clay tile, concrete or cast-iron pipe. While durable for their time, these materials become more susceptible to problems as they age.

Clay Tile & Concrete Pipe

Deteriorating clay and concrete pipes, installed in short sections can allow tree root intrusion. Upon entering, roots can impede wastewater flow and cause blockages.

Cast-Iron Pipe

As cast iron sewer lines age, their interior surfaces roughen, causing grease, toilet paper and debris to accumulate. Mineral buildup can narrow pipes and cause recurring blockages.

Sewer Camera Inspections

Camera inspections show sewer line issues without unnecessary digging. Our high-definition cameras can show:

  • Tree root intrusion
  • Broken or cracked pipe
  • Offset joints
  • Mineral buildup
  • Grease and debris accumulation
  • Partial or complete blockages
